Hybrid is like WHOA! It can potentially lead you down some deep, deep rabbit holes. So, I figured I could just have this problem taken care of "in post". Recording in Mono is just lame.Įven though I don't edit, I do process most of my videos in Hybrid, mostly because my old-ish PC can't play h265, so I have to convert my videos to h264. Having the L and R channels swapped sounds weird and often is very confusing. In many of them sound is more important than the actual video. I am open to suggestions but I don't think there's anything that I could do to the phone to fix this.Īll I record are short clips for myself and some stuff I need for work. My phone is a stock Android ONE device and it's going to stay this way. There is supposed to be a relatively easy way of "rewiring" the audio but it requires root access. Wasn't really counting on a fix and I pretty much gave up a long time ago. I have recently updated my phone to Android 11 and the channels are still swapped. My memory of this is not 100% but I think I came across a few posts on Xiaomi's forum where a couple guys where complaining about the issue itself and also not receiving any proper feedback from the dudes at Xiaomi who are supposed to fix it. I did research this but it was quite some time ago. So, it's not just my phone or my stupid brain and/or ears. However, a few folks like myself have noticed it. It's a little know problem because most people just don't care. It's a shame that the Left and Right audio channels are not wired the way they should be. The sound quality is surprisingly good for something like that (unless there's lots of wind).
